Hervé Costa & Sara Sanguino
Managing Directors at Obrador

Hervé Costa and Sara Sanguino are dancers, choreographers, dance teachers and accredited teachers of the Feldenkrais Method.

HC has been trained as a professional dancer at the École de Danse supérieure de Cannes, Rosella Hightower and at Rudra Bejart, the dance and performing arts school founded by Maurice Béjart in Lausanne. His professional career has developed in different European companies where he has experimented with the different techniques and body languages.

SS has been trained at the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona, specialising in classical dance. Sara began her professional career as a dancer in the Ballet de Zaragoza under the direction of Mauro Galindo, performing pieces by Uwe Scholz, Robert North and M. Galindo. In addition to her training in classical dance, she feels a great interest in exploring and approaching more contemporary body languages.

At the beginning of 1995, when they met, they began their professional career together in different contemporary dance companies in Europe and danced in creations by Misha Van Hoecke, Rui Horta, Robert Poole, Jacopo Godani, Ramón Oller, Cesc Gelabert and Sabine Dahrendorf.

In 2003, they created their own dance company in Barcelona and began teaching. During this period, they spend much of their time exploring body language, gesture and expression, opening up more and more to the field of somatic education.

From 2009 to 2015, Hervé taught contemporary dance at the Institut del Teatre of Barcelona and at the young company IT Danza.

Sara is passionate about movement pedagogy and continues to research new ways of applying somatics to dance movement on a daily basis. The Feldenkrais Method has been the common thread to transform her approach to movement and teaching.

Currently, they lead together the Obrador de Moviments centre with a clear commitment to somatic techniques applied to the arts of movement and dance in all its forms.

Since 2017, together, they also organize Feldenkrais Accredited Practitioner Trainings.
