FELDENKRAIS METHOD

FELDENKRAIS METHOD

The Feldenkrais Method encourages us to become aware of our movement habits in order to find more organic and healthy ones. It is based on learning and involves the individual in the process. By reducing effort, slowness, and comfort, we improve our perception of sensations to incorporate new ways of moving. The Method is aimed at all those who want to improve and recover skills, awakening greater awareness in all aspects of life. It also includes people involved in movement and learning, such as artists, dancers, actors, musicians, and athletes.

Monday 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Tuesday 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Thursday 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM

- Teachers: Lupe Cano
Marta Jiménez
Hervé Costa

In this modality, the teacher verbally guides students through movement sequences designed by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais. These sequences integrate movement and awareness in an innovative way.

Students learn to experience what is most convenient and healthy for them. This often takes them far beyond what they thought possible. The Feldenkrais Method offers a creative path of organic learning and helps you improve your ability to adapt and evolve using intelligence and experience rather than force or willpower.

- Reacher: Sara Sanguino

In this class, guided by sequences from the Feldenkrais Method, we move from observation and self-awareness to shared expressive movement. The Feldenkrais Method offers a unique and personal approach that helps us understand how we move.

As dance professionals, experiencing these sequences made us feel the need to continue exploring, integrating what we had learned and sharing this experience with others. The best way to channel this feeling was to create a context conducive to exchange, establishing a dialogue between the Feldenkrais Method and dance, and vice versa.

To bring this dialogue to life and resonate with genuine, expressive movement, we use guided improvisation and carefully curated music. It's a slow, progressive journey toward a unique dance experience.

Come and live your own experience; no prior knowledge is required.

This modality could be described as the most artisanal of the Method. Instead of words, the teacher uses his or her hands, usually with a gentle and non-invasive touch. It's a very respectful method; sessions are tailored to each student's unique needs and aim to facilitate, experience, and learn new ways of moving, as well as improve the coordination and organization of their actions and movements.

Allows to improve:

• Body awareness and self-image.
• Flexibility and fluidity.
• Coordination and efficiency of movement.
• Breathing and posture.
• Regulation of pain and tension.
• Dynamics in the use of force.
• Prevention and recovery.
