MARTA JIMÉNEZ
Marta Jiménez is teacher of Feldenkrais in Obrador de Moviments.

Marta Jiménez studied piano, earning a Higher Diploma in Piano from the Liceu de Barcelona and a Diploma in Studies from the Perpignan Conservatory, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Barcelona. Her professional career was marked by her incorporation into the Municipal Music School of Palau-solità i Plegamans, where she began to reflect on the role of music in human beings, exploring issues such as the musical learning process and the relationship between music and our bodily and emotional experience. This research led her to investigate various aspects of music pedagogy, such as the importance of movement, auditory sensations, and bodily expression in musical learning, as well as singing as a natural basis for this expression.
Throughout her training, she has been in contact with a wide variety of renowned teachers, such as Violeta Heimsy de Gainza, Emilio Molina, Teresa Malagarriga, Rita Wagner, and András Kemenes, who have provided her with different perspectives on music pedagogy. She obtained the Dalcroze Pedagogy Certification at the Longueras Institute in Barcelona, where she learned to integrate movement into music teaching. She subsequently traveled to Hungary to obtain a Kodály Pedagogy Certification at the Kodály Institute in Hungary, working with Klara Kokas and learning about the connection between music and movement.
Back in Barcelona, she developed the Family Music program (0-6 years) at the EMM in Palau-solità i Plegamans, and later collaborated with the Cooperative Health Corps and currently with the EMM Victoria de los Ángeles in Sant Cugat.
At the same time, her passion for the piano led her to explore the Feldenkrais Method with Monique Van der Vorst, and she became a certified Feldenkrais Teacher in 2015 with Beatriz Walterspiel. Since then, she has pursued several post-training studies with Ohad Nachmani. This training has allowed her to broaden her pedagogical approach, integrating somatic movement into her musical practice. She has delved deeper into the study of the auditory system with Carles Alòs, as well as into the possibilities of the Tomatis Method.
At Obrador de Movimientos, Marta Jiménez has had the opportunity to further deepen her practice of the Feldenkrais Method and to connect it with dance and choreography, particularly in her collaboration with Thomas Kampe. She also started a Feldenkrais group for people with health challenges, in collaboration with AFRIBROCAT, the fibromyalgia association. She also has a private practice in Barcelona and collaborates with the team at La Clínica Verde in Manlleu on their program that supports Dentosofía treatment using the Feldenkrais Method.
Marta Jiménez is also a professor at the EMM Victòria dels Àngels and at the Sant Cugat Conservatory.
