MIRADOR with Edward Tamayo

We return with the Workshop-Presentation Mirador cycle, a space for the visibility of the artist and their creation through proximity and exchange. Throughout the season, different artists and choreographers will share their proposals, inviting the audience to delve into their creative process.

Before each presentation, we organize a workshop to explore and approach the artist’s universe. No prior dance experience is required to participate.

The goal of Mirador is to create new bonds between artists and spectators, offering a direct and tangible experience of the creative process. Through regular programming, we transform the space by bringing the dancer/creator closer to the audience to experience the art in a physical and immersive way.

FLORNECIA / EDWARD TAMAYO

Flornecia is a solo performed by Edward Tamayo that emerges from the disappearance of his brother in Colombia. In this piece, the performer delves into the embodiment of his own demons, beings that share the same origin and piece of land, and how the darkness of these demons dances through the body, with pleasure, danger, and cruelty, including and accepting them:

Jonatan has been missing for more than a year and a half. The desire to dance with him again brings this dance to life. We move to his hometown, Mesitas del Colegio, in the region of Cundinamarca, Colombia. Fields and mud, amidst violence, poverty, and abandonment, the dance remains; it dresses itself in demon and decay, and it remains. It sheds its skin like a snake, changing its skin, it hurts to the point of despair. And always, inevitably always, the dance returns, remembers, and remains.
